My personal spiritual journey began over 30 years ago with my first experience of what Ram Dass calls the witness I. In this cosmology there are three levels of I. At the first level there is I the personality, the ego, the material manifestation of who I am and how I walk in the world. At the second level of I or witness (observer) I, we have the capacity to see ourselves from outside (or inside) ourselves. At this level or experience of I, I see myself not as a separate and individual entity but as part of an infinite interconnected whole which encompasses everything known and unknown. The third level of I is the Divine I where the duality of observer and observed dissolves and we are left with the experience of oneness, beyond self, beyond mind, beyond the physical universe and even beyond time and space.

To realize your true nature you must wait for the right moment and the right conditions. When the time comes, you are awakened as if from a dream. You understand what you have found is your own and doesn't come from anywhere outside.

That first experience of not being attached to myself, changed the course of my life, by beginning a quest toward greater awareness of my divinity and the divinity of all of creation. It lead me to spiritual practice, spiritual community, service and a thirst for the peace, the wisdom, the compassion, the love and the power that can only come from awareness of and connection with spirit.

In the Fulfillment Coaching Model we say we ARE one with spirit. We KNOW our clients as their own source. I appreciate that we state this so clearly and so unequivocally. That we acknowledge that we know this as truth not as simply belief.

In what concerns divine things belief is not appropriate. Only certainty will do. Anything less than certainty is unworthy of God.

My own spiritual path has not followed what I call the guru model of spirituality. This does not mean that I do not have teachers and models that delight and awaken me. I have had and continue to have many. It means that rather than follow a particular Religion, a specific teacher or practices, I accept my life itself as my most profound teacher. This means that all of my experiences and all of my relationships hold the opportunity and possibility for enlightened consciousness.

The source of all creation is divinity (or the spirit); the process of creation is divinity in motion (or the mind) and the object of creation is the physical universe (which includes the physical body). The physical laws of the universe are actually the whole process of divinity in motion or consciousness in motion. When we understand these laws and apply them in our lives anything we want can be created because the same laws that nature uses to create a forest, or a galaxy, or a star, or a human body can also bring about the fulfillment of our deepest desires".

Abraham Lincoln said "we hold these truths to be self evident?" In the Fulfillment Coaching Model we hold these truths to be self evident: That spirit is real.That we come from it, are part of it and are interconnected through it. That we can know and be spirit. That we can recognize spirit in others. That there are certain ways to encourage and enhance our experience of spirit. That spirit is infinitely wise and resourceful. That spirit is creative and powerful and that we are one with spirit.

Then there are the lives we lead, the people we are connected with, the work that we do, the struggles and challenges we face and how best to deal with them. How do we deal with relationship issues, and loss issues, and fear issues, and work issues and money issues and health issues and happiness issues? How do we deal with the journey of our lives and all the things that come up for us in a way that enhances our personal growth, our connection with spirit and our connections with our own inner selves, our uniqueness, our creativity and our power? How do we create the lives we envision for ourselves with a sense of balance and purpose and ease and positivism?

First and foremost we do this by KNOWING that we are one with spirit and our client's are as well. To me, this is the essence of the Fulfillment Model and of spiritual life coaching.
